Toyota Unleashes Power-Packed Yaris Cross at Thailand Expo 2023 25% Bigger 100% Impressive
Toyota’s latest model, the “Yaris Cross,” has taken center stage at the Thailand International Motor Expo 2023, captivating auto enthusiasts with its unique features and custom specifications. The Thai subsidiary of Toyota showcased the new Yaris Cross, revealing a model tailored for the overseas market.
While the Yaris Cross is a familiar sight in Japan, the Thai-spec variant boasts distinctive characteristics, setting it apart from its domestic counterpart. Unlike the compact SUV version sold in Japan, the Thai model is slightly larger and exclusively designed for overseas markets, including Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam.
Measuring 4310mm in length, 1770mm in width, and 1615mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2620mm, the Thai-spec Yaris Cross is 130mm longer, 5mm wider, and 25mm taller than its Japanese counterpart. The exterior design concept, labeled “Solid&Dynamic,” mirrors the aesthetics of the Toyota RAV4, featuring a front face reminiscent of a mini RAV4.
The interior of the Yaris Cross follows the concept of “ROOMY×SPORTY,” incorporating a wide, soft dashboard panel that enhances the cabin’s spaciousness and adds a touch of luxury beyond its class.
Under the hood, the Yaris Cross is equipped with a 1.5-liter inline 4-cylinder engine combined with a motor hybrid system (2NR-VEX), delivering a powerful maximum system output of 111 horsepower. The hybrid system is seamlessly integrated with an electronic continuously variable transmission (e-CVT), ensuring a smooth and efficient driving experience.
At the Thailand International Motor Expo 2023, Toyota showcased a customized version of the Yaris Cross, featuring enhancements from Modelista, a renowned company specializing in custom parts for Toyota vehicles. The customized Yaris Cross boasts a front spoiler, side skirts, and a rear bumper, adding a touch of luxury and flair to the vehicle’s appearance.
One of the highlights at the expo is the “Urban Sports” specification of the Yaris Cross, featuring a sports bike mounted on the roof. This unique configuration suggests an active and dynamic lifestyle, positioning the Yaris Cross as an ideal choice for those seeking adventure and versatility in their daily drives.
With its impressive design, spacious interior, and custom features, the Yaris Cross continues to solidify Toyota’s commitment to delivering innovative and appealing vehicles to diverse markets around the world.
