Honda is set to make waves at the upcoming 27th Osaka Auto Messe 2024 with the debut of its highly anticipated compact SUV, the “WR-V Field Explorer Concept.” Scheduled to be showcased at Intex Osaka from February 10th to 12th, this rugged and innovative vehicle is expected to redefine the compact SUV segment.

The new WR-V boasts a compact yet powerful design, with top-tier cargo space in its class. Scheduled for release on March 22nd, the SUV stands at 4325mm in length, 1790mm in width, 1650mm in height, and features a 2650mm wheelbase.

Under the hood, the WR-V is powered by a 1.5-liter inline 4-cylinder naturally aspirated gasoline engine, delivering a robust 118ps of maximum output and 142Nm of torque. The powertrain is coupled with a CVT, and the drive system is front-wheel-drive (FF).

Honda offers three grades for the WR-V, with prices ranging from 2,098,800 yen to 2,489,300 yen, capturing attention for its affordable yet impressive specifications. The focus on keeping all models below the 2.5 million yen mark has generated considerable interest in the automotive community.

In addition to the standard models, Honda is set to exhibit the “WR-V Field Explorer Concept” at the Osaka Auto Messe 2024. This custom model is based on Honda’s genuine accessory package “TOUGH STYLE,” with unique additions to elevate its ruggedness further.

The “TOUGH STYLE” accessory package includes modifications such as front lower garnish, side lower garnish, rear lower garnish, fog light garnish, and exhaust pipe finisher. Notably, these features are enhanced by changing silver and plated surfaces to black, adding a fearless edge to the vehicle.

Furthermore, the WR-V Field Explorer Concept incorporates a distinctive wild front grille, featuring the HONDA logo and markers, giving it a distinctly tough appearance. The exterior is rounded out with purposefully downsized 15-inch aluminum wheels combined with rugged off-road tires, black-coordinated door mirrors, fender garnish, and a roof rack, emphasizing its outdoor versatility.

While initially unveiled at the “Tokyo Auto Salon 2024,” the WR-V Field Explorer Concept’s first appearance in Kansai is highly anticipated at the Osaka Auto Messe 2024.
