Suzuki has taken the automotive world by storm with the world premiere of its new “light SUV” at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2024. Speculations are rife about whether this could be the eagerly anticipated next-generation Spacia Gear. The “Papa Boku Concept,” a customized car based on the new “Spacia,” is not only a feast for the eyes but also introduces a unique family camping experience.
Displayed at the Suzuki booth, the Papa Boku Concept envisions a world of family camping where fathers, children, and even the family dog can revel in the outdoors while cooking together. This concept model boasts intricate interior and exterior design, raising the question of whether it will be commercially available in the near future.
The Papa Boku Concept integrates advanced safety features, including the Dual Sensor Brake Support II and an electric parking brake in some grades. Enhancements to the rear seat, such as the addition of a “multi-use flap,” aim to elevate the comfort of passengers in the back.
Customized to perfection based on the Spacia, the concept model introduces a specially shaped storage box that seamlessly fits into the rear of the vehicle. By retracting the rear seat on the driver’s side, a long galley emerges, providing a space for full-fledged cooking when needed.
One striking aspect is the exterior design, reminiscent of the previous model, the Spacia Gear. The crossover style is emphasized with round headlights and a front grill reminiscent of Suzuki’s off-roader, the “Jimny.” Decorative underguard-style elements have been added to the lower part of the body, and a roof rail, absent in the Spacia and Spacia Custom, contributes to its rugged appearance.
The body color options include a beige with a brown roof or a three-tone color featuring matte green below the character line, evoking an outdoor adventure spirit. The playful yet functional interior features orange accents on the instrument panel, door panels, and seat stitching. The navigation space even includes a blackboard for doodles, adding a touch of creativity to the driving experience.
While it’s uncertain whether the Papa Boku Concept will be available for purchase as is, Suzuki has hinted at the possibility of releasing water bottles, cups, lanterns, aprons, and more as accessories. These items showcased outside the car may soon be available at Suzuki dealers.
Although Suzuki officially states that the Papa Boku Concept is a reference exhibition model, the high level of completion sparks speculation about an imminent release of a new Spacia Gear based on its design elements. Enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting confirmation from Suzuki on whether this concept will evolve into the next-generation Spacia Gear.
