“Man, Nissan” explodes! New “Skyline” Why did you leave a gasoline car? What is the hidden compelling reason.

“The birth of “”Nissan the Man””? Why did the new “”Skyline”” leave the gasoline-powered car behind? What is the hidden and compelling reason?

With the growing environmental awareness, “”hybrid cars”” are being abolished while “”gasoline cars”” continue to be used! What is Man Nissan’s earnest reason?
On September 22, 2022, Nissan announced some specification changes to the “”Skyline”” and the lineup will be changed from the end of October 2022.

The most powerful “”Skyline”” ever in legendary colors! Too cool! See the actual car.

The new lineup will include only gasoline-powered models, with all hybrid models eliminated, and a revision of the vehicle price.

Nissan “”Skyline”” is Partially Revamped and Hybrid Models are Eliminated! But gasoline-powered vehicles will remain! Why?

As a result of these partial improvements, the Skyline lineup will consist of four grades: GT (4,569,400 yen), GT Type P (4,868,600 yen), GT Type SP (5,149,100 yen), and 400R (589,300 yen).

In addition, a new body color, Midnight Purple, will be added to the high-performance 400R, replacing Slate Gray.

Midnight Purple is a color that has been used on Nissan’s flagship sports cars, such as the Skyline GT-R and GT-R.

With the addition of this new color, the 400R is expected to have an even stronger sports sedan look.

In response to the change in specifications, Nissan dealers have stopped taking orders for the Skyrun.

According to a representative at a Nissan dealership in the Tokyo metropolitan area, the hybrid model was to be discontinued around May 2022, ahead of the gasoline model.

As of the end of September 2022, orders for gasoline vehicles have also been stopped, but as mentioned above, sales of gasoline vehicles will resume again after some specification changes.

Considering the current trend toward electrification of cars, many people may feel it strange that the production of hybrid cars has been terminated, leaving the gasoline-powered cars behind. Why was the Skyline hybrid vehicle discontinued?

A Nissan spokesperson explains that the reason is that a shortage of semiconductors has made it difficult to produce hybrid vehicles.

In general, hybrid vehicles require more semiconductors than gasoline vehicles.

Therefore, as the shortage of semiconductors becomes more serious, the production of hybrid vehicles, not only Skyline, is not able to keep up with the demand.

With the discontinuation of the Skyline hybrid model, the Aria is the only model equipped with Nissan’s advanced driving assist technology, ProPilot 2.0.

Pro Pilot 2.0 is a function in which radar and cameras mounted on the front, sides, rear, and roof accurately detect surrounding white lines, signs, and traffic conditions, allowing the car to automatically control the steering wheel, accelerator, and brakes.

The system allows the driver to drive on the highway completely hands-free, as long as the steering wheel can be operated immediately.

Like ProPilot 2.0, ProPilot, which is available on other Nissan vehicles, allows the car to automatically perform basic operations such as steering, accelerating, and braking, but it requires the driver to hold the steering wheel, and cannot be used with the hands off.

Until the introduction of the Aria, the Skyline’s hybrid models were the only ones that could literally drive completely “”hands-off,”” and the aforementioned representative from a dealer in the Tokyo metropolitan area says, “”Many people chose the Skyline (hybrid model) because of the appeal of ProPilot 2.0.

As mentioned above, sales of the gasoline-powered Skyline are scheduled to resume in the future, but there has been no announcement that the Skyline will be equipped with ProPilot 2.0, and the possibility of this being the case is close to zero.

The person in charge at the aforementioned dealerships in the Tokyo metropolitan area also spoke as follows about models equipped with ProPilot 2.0: “”There will no longer be a hybrid version of the Skyline.

Now that there are no more hybrid Skyline models, those who want ProPilot 2.0 will inevitably buy the Aria.

However, there are rumors within the company that ProPilot 2.0 may be installed in the higher grades of the new Serena.

Although the truth is unknown, we expect that ProPilot 2.0 will most likely be installed in the new models to be introduced in the future.””

The Serena, Nissan’s leading minivan, is currently being sold in its fifth generation, which debuted in 2016, but six years have already passed since its introduction.

It has already been six years since its debut. Many people on social networking sites are predicting that the Serena will be fully remodeled soon.

In recent years, popular mid-size minivans such as Toyota’s Noah/Voxy and Honda’s Step Wagon have been fully remodeled with the latest driving support functions.

In this context, if the Serena is to be equipped with ProPilot 2.0, it is sure to attract considerable attention.

Lexus super luxury minivan “LM” is too luxurious! Looking forward to domestic introduction!

“More room than the Alphard! Lexus’ super luxury minivan “”LM”” is too luxurious! Expect its introduction in Japan!

    Lexus’ only minivan, the LM
Lexus, Toyota’s luxury brand, has a lineup of sedans and SUVs in Japan, as well as a coupe.

Too luxurious for four passengers! Lexus “”LM”” is super gorgeous! Which is more luxurious than the 15 million yen Alphard?

There are models that have not yet been introduced in Japan overseas, with the “”LM”” minivan attracting the most attention.

The LM, Lexus’ ultra-luxury minivan expected to be introduced in Japan

The LM made its world premiere at the Shanghai International Motor Show in April 2019 and has since been sold in China and other Asian countries.

Based on Toyota’s luxury minivan Alphard, the LM features a chrome spindle grille that gives it a Lexus face, L-shaped daytime running lights, and other features that give it a luxurious appearance and presence.

The body size is 5040 mm (overall length) x 1850 mm (overall width) x 1945 mm (overall height) with a wheelbase of 3000 mm. 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine LM350 and 2.5-liter inline-4 hybrid LM300h are available for each destination as the powertrain.

Intended to be used as a show car (a limousine in which the owner sits in the rear seat while the driver takes care of the driving), the LM has a two-row, four-passenger configuration.

The front and rear seats are separated by a glass screen, and a luxurious two-seater layout is adopted for the rear seats, which provide a vast private space.

The rear seats in the two-seater layout are equipped with large, independent left and right executive seats. In addition to a 26-inch display in front of the rear seats, a refrigerator is also provided, allowing passengers to enjoy the highest level of “”hospitality.

Seat foam made from low-density polyurethane is soft and comfortable, with a high quality feel and excellent support. The carefully set suspension and swing valve dampers provide outstanding ride comfort and amenity.

A more practical three-row, seven-passenger version is also available.

Although the LM has not been introduced in Japan, you may have seen it around town.

In addition to cases where LMs sold in Asia are imported, there are also those based on the Alphard that are transplanted by ordering genuine LM parts.

An LM-faced Alphard was also exhibited at the Tokyo Auto Salon, indicating that this is a highly popular customization.

    * * *

The Alphard and Vellfire also have a complete car called the “”Royal Lounge”” (15 million yen) with two rows of four seats, which was sold by Modellista, but production ended in December 2019.

In this context, there are expectations for the official introduction of a new luxury minivan, as there are rumors that Lexus will launch the LM in Japan within a few years.

However, it is priced at over 20 million Japanese yen in China and Thailand, and we must be prepared for it to become an extremely expensive model on par with the Toyota Century in the Japanese market.”

Nissan, new “Skyline” HV abolished but twin turbo continues for all cars ! What is the specification to be released at the end of October?

“Nissan discontinues new “”Skyline”” HV, but keeps twin turbo in all models! What are the specifications to be released at the end of October?

Lineup to Include “”ProPilot 2.0″” Model
Nissan has partially revised the specifications of its FR sports sedan “”Skyline”” and will launch it at the end of October 2022. The grade system and prices have also been revised.

Twin turbocharged and fast-running! The new and improved “”Skyline”” in 28 images.

What kind of specification changes has the current Skyline undergone so far?

    The revamped Nissan “”Skyline””

The current Skyline model was launched at the end of February 2014.

When it was first released, it came only in a 3.5-liter V-6 hybrid model. It was also notable for wearing the emblem of the company’s overseas luxury car brand Infiniti, rather than the Nissan emblem.

In June 2014, a 2-liter inline-4 turbocharged engine version was added to the lineup, offering a two-pronged power unit.

It underwent its first minor change in December 2017, followed by a minor change with more extensive changes (the Big Minor Change) in September 2019.

The Big Minor Change eliminated the 2-liter inline 4-cylinder turbocharged engine and replaced it with a 3-liter V6 twin-turbocharged engine.

In addition, the emblem was changed from Infiniti to Nissan, and the front face was renewed.

The hybrid model is the first Nissan vehicle to feature ProPilot 2.0, the latest driver assistance technology that can also be hands-off under certain conditions.

On top of that, in a partial specification change at the end of October 2022, the power unit deployment will be reviewed and the hybrid model, which has been available since 2014, will disappear from the lineup.

In line with this, the Skyline with ProPilot 2.0 specification will also drop from the lineup. On Nissan’s official ProPilot page (list of models equipped with ProPilot 2.0), the only Nissan model equipped with ProPilot 2.0 is the Aria, an SUV-type BEV.

On the other hand, the 3-liter V6 twin-turbocharged engine model, which continues to be sold, has added a new color, Midnight Purple (available in different grades), while the State Gray body color has been discontinued.

A Brown Interior Package is available as an option for each grade.

     Now here’s a quiz.

There are two types of 3-liter V6 twin-turbo engines mounted on the Skyline: a standard output version and a high-output version with different tuning.

Which of the following is the correct maximum output value for the high output version of the engine?

    1] 296 kW

    2] 298 kW

    3] 300kW

    4] 303kW

The correct answer is [2] 298kW.

The correct answer is [2] 298kW.

Regarding the 3-liter V6 twin-turbo engine, the standard output version mounted on the “”GT,”” “”GT Type P,”” and “”GT Type SP”” grades delivers maximum output of 224 kW (304 hp) and maximum torque of 400 Nm.

On the other hand, the specifications of the high-output version mounted on the “”400R”” grade have been increased to maximum output of 298 kW (405 hp) and maximum torque of 475 Nm.

Why do Toyota cars dominate the top ranks? “Yaris” and “Corolla” are combined in the series! Two reasons why Toyota dominates the registration ranking.

“Why do Toyota cars dominate the top? Yaris”” and “”Corolla”” are the series combined! Two reasons for Toyota’s overwhelming victory in the registration ranking

Most of the top 10 are Toyota vehicles
Toyota cars are mostly lined up at the top of the compact/ordinary car sales (registrations) ranking announced by the Japan Automobile Dealers Association (Jidanren).

Toyota’s luxury minivan “”Alphard”” is selling well! The “”gold”” special model is too gorgeous!

In the first half of 2022 (January to June), the Yaris is in first place, followed by the Corolla in second, the Roomy in third, the Rise in fifth, the Alphard in seventh, and the Aqua in eighth, with the exception of the Nissan Note (including the Note Aura) in fourth place and the Honda Freed in sixth. Toyota cars dominate the list.

Toyota cars always dominate the top ranking.

There are multiple reasons and backgrounds for this. First, Toyota cars have models that publish the total number of registrations for the series.

The Yaris, which ranks first in terms of registrations, is the total of the Yaris compact car, the Yaris Cross SUV, and the GR Yaris sports model. The average monthly registrations of the Yaris in the first half of 2022 is approximately 13,600 units, of which approximately 6,800 units are Yaris Crosses, 6,000 Yaris are GR Yaris, and the rest are GR Yaris.

The Yaris Cross’ approximately 6,800 units are slightly below the 6th-place Freed’s approximately 7,300 units, and if the Yaris compact car and the Yaris Cross SUV were calculated separately, the Yaris would not rank first in the sales ranking.

The Corolla sales volume is the total of the Corolla sedan, Corolla Touring wagon, Corolla Sport hatchback, and Corolla Cross SUV, plus the continuously produced previous-generation 5-number Corolla Axio (sedan)/Corolla Fielder (wagon) models.

The average monthly registration volume for the entire Corolla series in the first half of 2022 is approximately 11,800 units. The Corolla Cross had the highest number of registrations by body type (monthly average) at approximately 5,300 units, followed by the Corolla Touring at approximately 2,300 units. The remaining 4200 units were shared by the other body types.

The number of Corolla Cross registrations is slightly below the Aqua’s approximately 5,700, meaning that the Corolla series also does not rank high in the sales rankings when registrations are calculated by body type.

And for many users, the Yaris, Yaris Cross, and Corolla Sedan/Corolla Touring/Corolla Cross are different cars. The models to compare when purchasing a Yaris would be the Note or Fit, while the Yaris Cross would be the Honda Vezel or Nissan Kicks.

Considering this, the ranking order of the Yaris as No. 1 and the Corolla as No. 2 in terms of registrations cannot be used as a reference for users when choosing a car.

If that is the case, what will be the No. 1 small/ordinary car in terms of registrations by body type?

In the first half of 2022, it registered an average of about 10,900 units per month. In addition, the Alphard (monthly average of approximately 5,800 units in the first half of 2022) and the Aqua (approximately 5,700 units) are other Toyota vehicles that are selling well.

In other words, Toyota cars remain at the top of the sales ranking in many cases.

Why do Toyota cars dominate the top ranking? The “”Yaris”” and “”Corolla”” are a combined series! Two reasons why Toyota dominates the registration ranking

Is it related to Toyota’s lack of focus on light vehicles?
The second reason why many Toyota vehicles are at the top of the sales ranking is that kei cars have seen a sharp increase in sales.

In the first half of 2022, mini cars accounted for 38% of domestic sales. Honda used to sell mainly compact/ordinary cars, but now mini cars account for 54% of its total domestic sales. Mitsubishi and Nissan also have 44% and 38% of their sales are light vehicles, respectively.

The Copen GR Sport, a light convertible car sold by Toyota

In the past, light cars were mainly sold by Daihatsu and Suzuki, but recently Honda, Nissan, and Mitsubishi have also been putting their efforts into light cars, and the domestic sales ratio of light cars has reached 38%.

In this situation, Toyota, Mazda, and Subaru are the only manufacturers that do not focus on light cars, and small/ordinary cars are becoming Toyota’s domain.

In 1990, Toyota’s market share for compact/normal cars and mini cars combined was 32%, and it will remain unchanged at 32% in the first half of 2022 (including Lexus).

However, when limited to compact/normal cars, Toyota’s share was 42% in 1990, and will reach 50% in the first half of 2022.

As other manufacturers have focused on mini cars and reduced sales of compact and standard cars, Toyota’s share of compact and standard cars has relatively increased. As a result, Toyota’s share of the compact and standard car market has relatively increased.

And since Toyota basically does not deal in mini cars, except for some Daihatsu OEM vehicles, there is an abundance of compact cars that fit into the 5-number size range. These include the Yaris, Aqua, Roomy, Passo, Sienta, Rise, Corolla Axio, and Corolla Fielder. 5-number cars remain popular in Japan, and a large lineup of such cars will help increase total sales.

In this regard, Nissan’s only 5-number cars, excluding mini cars, are the Note, the standard body of the “”Serena”” and the “”NV200 Vanette Wagon. There was also the “”March,”” but its domestic sales ended at the end of August 2022.

Honda also has only the Fit, the Freed, and the Shuttle, which is no longer in production. Therefore, Toyota has a larger selection of 5-number cars than other manufacturers, which gives it an advantage in the small/ordinary car sales ranking.

On the other hand, manufacturers other than Toyota are left to sell mini cars and a small number of 5-number cars in Japan, while the rest are 3-number cars developed for overseas markets. This dependence on a few models for domestic sales has reduced the sales of compact/ordinary cars, resulting in Toyota’s sole dominance in the market.

Another difference is the number of dealerships. Toyota has approximately 4,600 dealerships nationwide, while Nissan has less than 2,100 and Honda has less than 2,200. Toyota’s sales network is more than twice that of Nissan and Honda, so it is easy to increase sales.

    * * *

There are various reasons why Toyota cars occupy the top of the domestic sales ranking.

In particular, the fact that manufacturers other than Toyota, with the exception of Daihatsu and Suzuki, have turned their attention overseas and become passive in the domestic market, resulting in fewer products that resonate with Japanese users, is a major reason for the strong sales of Toyota vehicles.

However, this does not mean that Toyota will continue to be a safe bet. While the Roomy, Rise, and Alphard are selling well, the average monthly registration of the Crown in the first half of 2022 (hereafter referred to as “”Crown””) is stagnant at about 1,400 units, which is why the new Crown Crossover has changed its appearance to an SUV while maintaining its sedan body.

The C-HR, Corolla sedan, and Camry are also polarizing in terms of sales among Toyota vehicles, with the C-HR selling approximately 1,200 units, the Corolla sedan selling approximately 900 units, and the Camry selling approximately 500 units.

Since Toyota has now shifted to a sales structure in which all dealers handle all vehicles, popular cars will sell well at all dealers. In the future, then, it may be narrowed down to a small number of best-selling models, as is the case with Nissan and Honda.

In the future, Toyota will also need to take on the challenge of promoting upsizing sales, for example, switching from the Yaris Cross to the Corolla Cross and then to the RAV4. We look forward to Toyota’s new sales approach.”

I can’t wait! A custom that makes “Jimny 5 door specification” squid! Rendering of Brabus style “Jimny” with side muffler and rear spoiler is a hot topic .

“Can’t wait! Jimny 5-Door Customized! Rendering of Brabus-style “”Jimny”” with side mufflers and rear spoiler

Still not out? Custom 5-door version of the “”Jimny Sierra
Four years after its release, Suzuki’s four-wheel drive vehicle, the current “”Jimny Sierra”” continues to enjoy long delivery times and its popularity shows no sign of abating.

Can’t wait to see it! Customizing the 5-door version of the “”Jimny Sierra”” as soon as possible? See a rendering of the Jimny Sierra 5-door BRABUS-style

Car designer Nikita Chuicko has created and posted a rendering of such a Jimny Sierra with a 5-door version and some customization.

Rendering of the Suzuki Jimny Sierra in its expected 5-door version with customization (photo: kelsonik)

The Jimny series, which includes the light four-wheel-drive Jimny and the regular Jimny Sierra, is a compact 4WD that is used in 194 countries and regions around the world for a wide range of everyday and leisure applications.

The current model’s popularity has not waned even after four years since its launch in July 2018, and “”long delivery times”” are still occurring.

On the other hand, some users have expressed their desire for a 5-door version of the Jimny Sierra, which is only available as a 3-door model, and there are high expectations for its appearance as a development vehicle has been spotted outside of Japan.

Nikita Chuicko has released a rendering of a 5-door version of the Jimny Sierra before its official debut.

Nikita Chuicko has created and posted on his social networking sites renderings of various “”what if”” vehicles that do not yet exist in reality, such as the next model of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution and the Nissan Extrail with full-scale off-road specifications, as well as renderings of Mitsubishi, Cadillac, and other vehicles. He has also created his own customized renderings of cars such as Mitsubishi and Cadillac, lowering the ride height and blacking out the grille.

The exterior of the Jimny Sierra 5-door shown in the rendering is two-tone, vivid kinetic yellow and black. The body has been extended and a rear door added.

It has also been customized with a new front bumper, hood, and headlights, a rear spoiler has been added, and the muffler has been converted to a side exit.

The wheels have also been enlarged in diameter, giving the car a wild impression, and Nikita Chuicko commented that these customizations are in the style of the German custom manufacturer BRABUS.

The social networking sites are saying about this car, “”I want to buy it right away!”” This beautiful car should not only be kept as a design, but also be produced.

The rendering created by Nikita Chuicko is, of course, unrealistic, but the customization of the Jimmy Sierra to resemble the Mercedes-Benz “”G-Class”” BRABUS specification exists in reality, and if a 5-door version of the Jimmy Sierra were to appear in reality, it would not be surprising if a car with similar specifications to the rendering appeared. If a 5-door version of the Jimmy Sierra were to appear in reality, it would not be surprising to see a car with specifications similar to the rendering.”

Nissan’s “e-POWER” has evolved with the new “X-Trail”! Why don’t other manufacturers install series hybrids?

“Nissan’s e-POWER has evolved with the new XTRAIL! Why Don’t Other Makers Equip Series Hybrids?

    New 1.5-liter VC Turbo x e-POWER
Nissan’s fully loaded new XTRAIL, the second generation e-POWER with the newly adopted 1.5-liter VC (variable compression ratio) turbo, is attracting attention not only from users but also from people involved with other manufacturers.

See the refined interior and exterior of the new Nissan XTRAIL in 35 images.

The all-new Nissan XTRAIL, completely redesigned for the first time in nine years

The e-POWER is an electric vehicle that uses the engine as a generator and the electricity from the engine to drive the motor, and technically classified as a series hybrid.

It is still fresh in our minds that Nissan adopted the first-generation e-POWER with a 1.2-liter engine in the second-generation Note in 2016, which significantly boosted Note sales in Japan.

Subsequently, it was also adopted in the Serena minivan, and in 2020, the improved second-generation e-POWER was introduced successively in the KIX SUV, and then in the third-generation Note and Aura.

The second-generation e-POWER with 1.5-liter VC turbocharger is now being used for the first time in the new XTRAIL, and Japan is the fastest country in the global market to introduce it.

In early September 2022, we were able to test drive the new xtrail 4WD (e-4ORCE) on public roads and highways, as well as hear at length from e-POWER development staff.

From there, I would like to delve deeper into the essence of e-POWER.

First of all, what many people may imagine about the 1.5-liter VC turbo introduced this time may be its dynamic acceleration. This is because of the difference in specifications from the second-generation e-POWER-equipped Note 4WD.

Specifically, the new Extrale 4WD’s front motor has a maximum output of 150 kW and maximum torque of 330 Nm, while the rear motor has 100 kW and 195 Nm. In contrast, the performance of the Note 4WD is significantly improved by a factor of 1.76/1.18 for the front and 2.0/1.95 for the rear, respectively.

However, the actual driving feel does not seem to lead directly to the expression “”dynamic.

Rather, the impression that the car is truly smooth, flexible, and fun to drive in any driving situation takes precedence. I felt that the sense of balance between e-POWER and e-4ORCE is very good, with the newly introduced body as the axis.

I was also strongly impressed by the fact that when the engine is turned on during overtaking acceleration on the highway, the amount of pressure on the accelerator pedal, the way the engine rpm rises, and the engine sound are in perfect sync with each other with the realization that the car is quiet enough.

Based on this test drive experience, we asked the e-POWER developers about the purpose of adopting the 1.5-liter VC turbo, and their answer was, “”To accelerate a (heavy) C-segment SUV smoothly and without stress, and to make it quieter.

Furthermore, “”Since we will be selling the turbo in Europe, it must be able to handle ultra high-speed driving on the German Autobahn and towing vehicles such as camping cars,”” he said.

The development process involves setting the performance of the motor based on such usage environments, and then designing a generator to generate the corresponding amount of electricity.

While previous e-POWER models were combined with a 1.2-liter NA (naturally aspirated) displacement, the new XTRAIL is turbocharged with a 1.5-liter displacement, which is calculated to provide a sufficient amount of power at low rpm. Furthermore, to improve fuel economy at high speeds, Nissan adopted VC (variable compression ratio) technology, which was already in mass production.

The 1.5-liter VC turbo engine was first installed in the Rogue, the North American sibling of the Extrale, from 2020 as a gasoline engine model, not as an e-POWER model, and the data obtained there was used to tailor the e-POWER for Japan, Europe, and China.

When the unit is used as an e-POWER, the engine is set to run at a minimum of 1600 or 2000 rpm and a maximum of 4800 rpm when the engine is started.

The developers say that the quietness of the engine as a generator is important to them, and to achieve this, they focused on lowering the engine speed.

As for the point introduced in the 1.2-liter second-generation e-POWER in the KIX, Note, and Aura, where the engine is turned on with priority given to conditions such as poor road surfaces to improve cabin quietness, “”the method of reading this from changes in motor rpm is basically the same as in other e-POWER models,”” he said.

Nissan’s e-POWER has evolved with the new XTRAIL! Why Don’t Other Makers Equip Series Hybrids?

Why aren’t there more series hybrids?
Series hybrids include Nissan’s e-POWER and also Daihatsu’s e-SMART Hybrid, which was introduced in 2021, but other manufacturers have not adopted them. Why are they limited to Nissan and Daihatsu?

The e-POWER developer’s personal opinion on this point is that “”it is difficult to balance the size of the motor, engine (as a generator), and battery in a cost-effective manner.

In response to such issues, Nissan has succeeded in keeping costs down by utilizing its electric component design know-how cultivated through the electrification technology of the “”LEAF”” EV, and Daihatsu by utilizing parts and design know-how used in Toyota’s various electric vehicles.

Furthermore, in the case of Daihatsu, “”low cost of good quality”” is the basis for development based on the vehicle size of the introduced vehicle, and the e-SMART Hybrid developer explains, “”We do not employ technologies such as aggressive engine application in poor road conditions, which Nissan employs, to keep costs low and reflect this in the new vehicle price.

Also, in the case of electric vehicles, the battery has a significant impact on the overall cost of the vehicle, but the electric capacity of series hybrids is set much lower than that of EVs.

For example, the Toyota bZ4X has 71.4 kWh, while the Daihatsu Rocky/Toyota Rise e-SMART Hybrid has a much smaller capacity of about 0.9 kWh (e-SMART Hybrid developer), and for e-POWER, when the Kicks was previously introduced, Nissan exchanged opinions online The e-POWER is about 1.5 kWh, according to the people involved. The e-POWER for the new xtrail has not yet been disclosed.

The e-POWER developer we spoke to said, “”A larger battery will naturally reduce the burden on the engine as a generator, but in addition to increased cost, the increased weight will have no small impact on driving performance.

When the battery charge is low, the power generated by the engine is directly used to drive the motor in the form of a battery.

Thus, behind the e-POWER’s high performance, including its cost, I feel that Nissan, along with Mitsubishi Motors, was the first major automaker to mass-produce EVs at roughly the same time, in the early 2010s, and that the various knowledge gained to date has been put to good use.”
