Andrea Carlucci, vice president of Toyota Motor Europe, stated at the company’s forum in Brussels that they are working on overcoming the durability challenges of solid-state batteries, aiming for commercialization between 2027 and 2028 with a production capacity in the tens of thousands.

Unlike its base model, which is a 4-door sedan developed as the “Corolla Sedan” in Japan, the GR Sport version boasts enhanced design, specifications, and powertrain. The Corolla Altis GR Sport is based on the hybrid model, featuring sporty changes to the suspension and exterior to deliver an enhanced driving experience.

    With an overall length of 4,630 mm, width of 1,780 mm, height of 1,435 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,700 mm, the base Corolla Altis offers powertrain options, including a gasoline model with a 1.6-liter or 1.8-liter in-line 4-cylinder engine, and a hybrid model with a 1.8-liter in-line 4-cylinder engine.

    The GR Sport edition takes things up a notch with exclusive exterior elements such as a distinct bumper and grille, as well as interior enhancements like unique seats and an eye-catching engine start button. The Thai subsidiary of Toyota showcased the new Yaris Cross, revealing a model tailored for the overseas market.

    While the Yaris Cross is a familiar sight in Japan, the Thai-spec variant boasts distinctive characteristics, setting it apart from its domestic counterpart. Unlike the compact SUV version sold in Japan, the Thai model is slightly larger and exclusively designed for overseas markets, including Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam.

    Measuring 4310mm in length, 1770mm in width, and 1615mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2620mm, the Thai-spec Yaris Cross is 130mm longer, 5mm wider, and 25mm taller than its Japanese counterpart. The exterior design concept, labeled “Solid&Dynamic,” mirrors the aesthetics of the Toyota RAV4, featuring a front face reminiscent of a mini RAV4.

    The interior of the Yaris Cross follows the concept of “ROOMY×SPORTY,” incorporating a wide, soft dashboard panel that enhances the cabin’s spaciousness and adds a touch of luxury beyond its class.

    Under the hood, the Yaris Cross is equipped with a 1.5-liter inline 4-cylinder engine combined with a motor hybrid system (2NR-VEX), delivering a powerful maximum system output of 111 horsepower.
