New Honda Breeze SUV officially unveiled as a new model
23rd December 2022, Beijing – Honda’s latest offering, the eagerly awaited SUV named “Breeze,” has been officially introduced to the Chinese market. This striking vehicle emerges from the collaboration between Honda and China’s Guangqi Group under the banner of Guangqi Honda, Honda’s Chinese subsidiary.
With its distinctive design and a promise of opulent comfort, the Breeze is set to make waves in the SUV segment. Presenting an astonishing 55 images showcasing both its alluring exterior and its inviting osha interior, the Breeze aims to capture the hearts of Chinese consumers seeking an exceptional driving experience.
As an all-new model in Honda’s lineup, the Breeze shares its roots with the acclaimed CR-V. Specifically tailored to cater to the Chinese market’s unique preferences, the Breeze serves as a sister model to the well-regarded CR-V. Meanwhile, the 5th generation CR-V, a mainstay in Japan, is set to retire in 2022, remaining exclusively available in its current stock.
Meanwhile, the 6th generation CR-V has already hit the American market, with its Japanese release yet to be officially confirmed. Interestingly, this very same 6th generation CR-V forms the foundation upon which the “Breeze” SUV stands, ushering in a new era of driving excellence.
The Chinese automotive landscape witnesses Honda’s presence through two joint ventures: Dongfeng Honda Automobile and Guangqi Honda Automobile. These partnerships yield the CR-V (6th generation) through Dongfeng Honda, while the Breeze takes its place in the spotlight under the Guangqi Honda banner.
The Breeze, a versatile SUV available in 5- or 7-seat configurations, embodies Honda’s commitment to providing unparalleled spaciousness, advanced safety features, and cutting-edge intelligence. Its dimensions, measuring 4716 mm in length, 1866 mm in width, and 1691 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2701 mm, place it in the same league as the Toyota Harrier, Japan’s sole contender in this category.
Setting itself apart from its CR-V sibling, the Breeze’s exterior boasts a refined aesthetic, free of unpainted plastic elements. Artfully designed black or body-colored garnishes grace the lower body, exuding a sense of opulence. Notably, a sizable grille with an imposing presence resides beneath the bumper, cementing the Breeze’s unique identity.
The interior tells a story of innovation, marked by the evolution of Honda’s MM concept (Man-Maximum, Machine-Minimum). This philosophy maximizes occupant space while minimizing the machine’s footprint. The result? Unprecedented comfort akin to that of a minivan and an environment of tranquility.
For instance, in the seven-passenger configuration, the third-row seats boast impressive headroom and a completely flat floor, generously enhanced by an air conditioning vent for an elevated sense of comfort. Moreover, the second-row seats feature a one-touch sliding mechanism for effortless boarding, while the third-row seats can be conveniently folded, granting access to 478 liters of cargo space.
Powering the Breeze is a robust 1.5-liter turbocharged inline 4-cylinder engine, generating a peak output of approximately 193 horsepower and 243 Nm of torque, skillfully paired with a CVT for seamless power delivery.
Safety takes center stage with the inclusion of Honda SENSING 360 across all models. A pioneering move by Guangqi Honda, this upgrade equips the Breeze with a comprehensive suite of camera and radar systems. Boasting five millimeter wave radars and a 360-degree detection angle, this system harnesses advanced artificial intelligence and big data analysis, ensuring vigilant and intuitive driving assistance, and enabling rapid adaptations to varying road conditions.
In terms of pricing, the entry-level “240 Turbo Elite Edition” starts at 185,900 RMB (approximately 3,530,000 yen), while the range-topping “240 Turbo Premium Edition AWD” commands a price tag of 249,900 RMB (approximately 4,750,000 yen). While finer details are yet to be unveiled, the launch of hybrid (e:HEV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) models alongside the Breeze announcement adds an exciting layer of anticipation to Honda’s future offerings.

Revolutionary Honda Unveils eNS2 SUV 10 EVs by 2027 Redefining Automotive Innovation
ByPawaniIn a recent announcement that’s sure to turn heads, Honda has revealed its latest addition to the electric vehicle (EV) market: the “e:NS2” crossover SUV. Set to debut at the Beijing Motor Show, which kicks off on April 25, 2024, this innovative vehicle represents a collaboration between Honda and China’s Dongfeng Motor Corporation under their joint venture, Dongfeng Honda.
The e:NS2 marks the second installment in Honda’s e:N series, a specialized sub-brand tailored for the Chinese market. With a vision to redefine the EV landscape, Honda has crafted the e:NS2 to blend the practicality of an SUV with the sleekness of a sedan, catering to drivers seeking both functionality and comfort.
While its predecessor, the e:NS1, mirrors the size of compact SUVs like the Vezel, the e:NS2 carves out its own niche as a mid-sized crossover. Boasting coupe-like styling accentuated by sharp lines and tube-shaped LED lights, this vehicle exudes a futuristic aura that captivates onlookers with its emotional appeal.
Inside, the e:NS2 boasts a minimalist yet futuristic interior design. A horizontal, slim instrument panel houses a head-up color display for the driver and a generous 12.8-inch tablet-like display at the center. With a flat floor and a retractable center console, the cabin prioritizes ease of movement and passenger comfort.
In terms of dimensions, the e:NS2 measures 4788 mm in length, 1838 mm in width, and 1570 mm in height, placing it in the same league as popular models like the Toyota Harrier. Its wheelbase spans 2735mm, offering ample cargo space of 500 liters with a maximum width of 1100mm.
Under the hood, the e:NS2 inherits the powertrain of its higher-grade sibling, the e:NS1, featuring a motor capable of producing up to 150kW (203hp) paired with a 68.8kWh battery. This configuration grants the e:NS2 an impressive cruising range of 545km, ensuring drivers can go the distance without compromise.
While pricing details are set to be unveiled on April 25th, expectations suggest the e:NS2 will command a premium over the e:NS1’s 175,000 yuan (approximately 3.75 million yen) price tag.
Looking ahead, Honda has ambitious plans for the EV market in China, aiming to introduce 10 EV models by 2027 and achieve a 100% EV sales ratio by 2035. At the Beijing Motor Show, alongside the e:NS2, Honda will unveil its next-generation EV, the “Ye,” and showcase three models from the upcoming “Ie” series, underscoring its commitment to electrification amidst a global landscape marked by EV industry shifts and trends.
Honda to revive the new Odyssey to compete with the “Alphard” Will the new “Elysion” for China be introduced domestically next year .
“Honda to Revive New Odyssey to Compete with Alphard; New Elysion for China to be Introduced in Japan in 2023
Alphard”” is being considered for introduction in Japan? Considering Introducing the New “”Elysion”” in Japan?
Honda has terminated production of its high-end Odyssey minivan at the end of December 2021, following the closure of its Saitama Works Sayama plant. With Toyota dominating the popularity of the high-end minivan “”Alphard,”” there have been many requests for Honda to revive the model.
The “”Elysion,”” a higher-end model of the Odyssey that continues to be produced overseas, may be introduced to Japan as the new Odyssey in 2023.“”More luxurious than the Alphard! Introduction in Japan is imminent! View 53 interior and exterior photos of Honda’s top-of-the-line minivan, the Elysion.
Honda’s new Elysion luxury minivan, minor-changed in China in December 2021 [Chinese specifications].
The Odyssey is a high-end model that occupies a higher position than the Freed and Step Wagon in Honda’s three-row minivan lineup.
It is a well-established brand with a history of more than 25 years since the first model in 1994, and the current model, introduced in 2014, is the fifth generation.
Although a full six years have passed since its debut, it was just refreshed in November 2020 with a fairly major minor change that redesigned the interior and exterior.
In the following year of 2021, 21,148 units (average monthly sales of approximately 1762 units) were sold, and the sudden announcement of the end of production was met with lamentation from many Honda fans, as the car had been enjoying stable popularity.
As of the end of July 2022, the Odyssey new car introduction page still remains on Honda’s official website.
However, the page still says, “”*Some types and colors may not be available. Please contact the sales company for details.”” It seems that only vehicles produced during 2021 are being sold from stock.
Of course, Honda is also taking measures to end Odyssey production.
The Step Wagon, a medium-class minivan that will be fully remodeled in May 2022, will be offered in the “”Spada Premium Line,”” a high-end version with a chrome exterior and higher quality seat materials to accommodate Odyssey replacement users.
However, according to Honda officials, there are many requests from users to revive the high-end minivan.
Therefore, it appears that Honda is secretly considering the introduction of a high-end minivan once again.
The popularity of the Toyota Alphard, a high-end minivan, is also said to be a driving force behind this.
The current Odyssey (Odyssey) is actually a high-end minivan.
In fact, a model with almost the same specifications as the current Odyssey (minor-changed version) is still being produced at a local joint venture company in China, Guangqi Honda Automobile (Guangzhou, Guangdong Province).
In addition, the Elysion, with more advanced interior and exterior specifications, is also produced at the joint venture Dongfeng Honda Automobile (Wuhan City, Hubei Province).
The Elysion was once sold in Japan from 2004 to 2013 as a top-end minivan that ranked above the Odyssey, but with the introduction of the current Odyssey, it is no longer in production in Japan.
The Chinese version of the Elysion, on the other hand, has just undergone a minor change in December 2021.
With an overall length of 4951 mm x width of 1842 mm x height of 1711 mm and a wheelbase of 2900 mm, the 7-seat version has a 2-liter Atkinson cycle gasoline engine combined with a highly efficient and powerful 2-motor hybrid system as its powertrain.
The interior layout follows the specifications of the current Odyssey, which underwent minor changes in 2020, and includes a 7-inch full LCD instrument panel, a large 10.1-inch center display, and gesture control power sliding doors.
The Step Wagon also offers more luxurious seat materials than the Odyssey, and an electric double sunroof, which was not available in Japan.
Now that a higher grade is available for the Step Wagon, it would be more impactful to launch the Elysion with increased luxury as a new model rather than reintroducing the Odyssey with the same specifications as before.
At this point, it is unclear whether the right-hand-drive version will be produced in China and imported, or whether it will be produced again at Honda’s production facilities in Japan. In any case, it seems very likely that the new Elysion will be introduced in Japan.
As for the naming, it is being renamed the Odyssey, which has been successful in Japan, and is being renamed the “”revival of Honda’s high-end minivan. We expect the new model to be introduced in 2023.”
