However, there are not many people in the world who customize the exterior of the Hiace to look like a Lamborghini Aventador and install a twin-turbocharged V12 engine from a Century.
The creator of such a “”magic modification”” Hiace is Mr. James Redelinghuys, who lives in South Africa.
The Hiace, sold locally under the name “”Quantum,”” is the standard cab vehicle in South Africa. Why did James decide to “”magic-modify”” the Hiace?
James, who used to operate a cab rental business in South Africa, says that he originally set out to create a custom Hiace for his own marketing purposes.
I got this Hiace in March 2017.
The main purpose of the customization was to market the company, but I also wanted to create something creative.
We started by turbocharging the stock 2.7-liter engine.
That in itself was done quickly, but then I saw an Aventador-style body kit that SAD of Japan was selling and decided to get it.
Then I felt like I had to install a crazier engine as well.
After considering different engines, we decided to install a Century V12 engine midship.
The Century V12 engine has real torque from low rpm.
I have installed two twin-scroll turbochargers in it, bringing the maximum output to 600 hp and the maximum torque to 700 Nm.
These turbos start to show power around 3500 rpm. Incidentally, since the stock injectors could not supply enough fuel to the engine, I installed Bosch injectors, which are used in the Porsche 911 (997 model).
The transmission is a three-speed one made by TCI, which is very unique because it is used in street racing in the United States.
As for the suspension, we tried different patterns and settled on plate springs with dampers.””
Although James has done “”magical modifications”” to the Italjet Dragster and Smart Roadster in the past, he had a very difficult time customizing the Hiace.
He says that the custom Hiace was a very difficult project for him, but he was able to complete it in time.
I hardly feel the impact of the road and the noise. But the beat produced by the muffler is very pleasant.
When the cab work is over, I can enjoy this Hiace as much as I want.
It is really a fun time. I believe that this car is unique not only in South Africa but also in the world.
Incidentally, this Hiace can reach 200 km/h in second gear. In theory, I think 300 km/h is possible, but it would take a lot of guts to do it.

On July 13, 2022, Honda’s U.S. subsidiary officially unveiled the interior and exterior design of the new CR-V, the sixth-generation model.

The new CR-V was previously revealed on May 24, with the headlights, front grille, and part of the rear combination lights, but now we finally have a full view of the new CR-V.
First, let us compare the front design, focusing on the shape of the grille.
The new model’s larger, hexagonal front grille is eye-catching. In addition to the black honeycomb shape, the lower part of the bumper is also strongly sculpted, and although the individual designs are simple, the overall design is characterized by a unique presence.
Comparing the new and old models, the current model also has a hexagonal grille, but unlike the new model, which makes a strong statement with its grille alone, the new model has a sleek design that matches the overall form of the slightly forward leaning body.

The new CR-V looks relatively simple because of the horizontal shoulder line on the body side. The windows are also neatly arranged.
In contrast, the current model, as mentioned above, has a slightly forward-sloping wedge shape, and the tops and bottoms of the windows are slightly narrower, which gives it an aggressive design that emphasizes the lower surface of the body and the protruding rear fenders.
In comparison, the new CR-V is a little more conservative in its lines, but it can be said that the emphasis is on making the high utility of the vehicle visually palpable. In other words, the new CR-V is also considered to be conscious of support from the family segment, which values practicality.
It is also assumed that this is related to the fact that a new model, the HR-V, will be introduced in 2022 as a new SUV lineup under the CR-V.
The aggressive design line of the current CR-V may be said to be inherited by the new HR-V.

Let’s compare the interiors of the new and old CR-Vs.The design around the instrument panel also shares some similarities with the exterior impression.
The new CR-V shares the same horizontal instrument panel design with the new Civic, Step Wagon, Vezel, and other new Honda models that have been introduced in recent years.

In contrast, a look at the instrument panel of the current CR-V is overwhelmingly massive in shape. It has a sense of luxury in this way.
